Look What I Made!

I love to wear my babies. I've had pretty much every type of carrier out there: a Baby Bjorn (which I later learned is terrible for the baby's back and pelvis) that we got when Alec was born, a Maya Wrap that I got when I had Benji but never took the time to learn how to use, then I made a Mei Tai carrier (which I loved-you can see a picture of that on Kate's blog) when I had Ava. After that, I sold my Maya Wrap and bought another one (same thing, just in a different color) which I learned how to use and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Sadly, it took me three kids to find out that a ring sling was the best carrier, but at least now I know. . .

However, Ava's getting bigger and I just don't need all the adjustability that the Maya has. I've always liked the idea of a pouch because of it's simplicity, but nice ones sell for around $65 so I haven't always liked the price! I felt the urge to do a project coming on recently, so I got online and found a really simple pattern for making a pouch. I picked up two snazzy cotton prints, and proceeded to make an adorable one for around $10!!! Oh, and it only took me about 30 minutes! I wore Ava in it most of the day when we were at the fair (that's why she looks so sleepy in the picture) and it was perfect; simple yet stylish! *grin*

I may consider making another one and putting it on eBay just to see what happens. . .

How adorable is that wrap!?
Ava looks like she loves it. You should sell it on ETSY. I just love that site. Looks like the fair was a great time. We went to a local county fair instead of the state fair this year. I think we'll hit the Renaissance Festival instead. We enjoy that much better. Hope you have a great weekend!

I love the print... I still think you should make Ava one too. :) Do you think you could carry twins in that? Ha! What am I going to do??

Very cute! I never liked the Bjorn, and the maya was just to much stuff all hanging around for me. I have a pouch one for Rhys but I think I bought the wrong size, it kind of digs into his little legs, but I do like it! you should sell it!! I would buy one :)

Oooh! I LOVE it! Did you find the pattern online or just make it up? I've been looking for a good pattern for one, but can't really decide what will be best. Let me know what you did, 'cause I'm definitely making one. Ava looks so comfy in it!

Very cool and surprisingly stylish. I never used the carriers because they just weren't comfortable but this one looks different. Hmmm, I am trying for a third baby...you may have a first customer soon because I can't sew! ;)

Hi there. I just happened upon your site and saw this picture. I have a *Hotsling* which is a pouch carrier. I love it, but I would love to have another in some really cute fabric. Where did you find this pattern? It looks super cute and so is the little cutie in it!

Would mind telling me what site you got the pattern off of? I would love to make my own pouch carrier.

How old was she? I love my Mei Tai, but my 22 month old gets a bit wiggly in it.
