homeade Cough Remedy

A couple posts ago, I mentioned that I used a homemade Cough Remedy for my kids and had folks interested in my recipe. So...here's what we use at our house when my kids get that nasty, dry, croupy cough:

roughly equal parts of
RAW honey
and
FRESH, RAW garlic (minced or through a garlic press)

I mix it together and keep it in a glass jar in the fridge.  Then I give whomever is barking about 1-4 tsp of it, spread out through the day.  We have yet to see a cough that hasn't responded within 24 hours.

Ok, now I'm curious about this. Do you grind the garlic to a pulp or is there a bit of texture left to it? How do your kids do with the taste? I have 2 kids with a pretty healthy gag reflex that I worry about......

Oh Shelly I miss you!
Your vacation looked beautiful. So glad you got to spend time with your first love. I'm so impressed with your work outs also. You should be so proud of yourself! My shins always hurt from running also. I think that's why I never keep it up. It's so hard on my legs. Do you think you will drive through the Twin Cities at all when heading to the farm?? I'd love to meet up with you even for a minute. Hope your Spring is beautiful and that you continue to be able to spend precious time in the word. Blessings friend.

Sounds good- might I suggest, that the honey be local to the area you live in-making it even better!
