40 and counting
I decided to make a list of Ava's words right now- wow! is she a talker! She has words for:
knee
trash
shoes
Nana
Papa
Daddy
Mommy
Alec
Ozzie
Ani (one of our dogs)
apple
banana
hummus
pretzel
cracker
cereal
strawberry
chocolate (this one's definately my fault!)
go
door
slide
click (the buckles on her carseat)
horse
ball
kitty
uh-oh
paci (pacifier)
sticky
bowl (she must have a bowl to eat nearly everything in)
more
popcorn
dinner
un-huh (accompanied by an exaggerated nod)
baby
sippy
boys (her brothers)
wash
help
touch
rice
Of course she doesn't pronounce everything perfectly, she calls hummus "hum-EEEE!", but enough that we get the general idea.
She's saying all this at nearly 18 mos. . .I hope she keeps talking this much to me when she's a teenager!
3 readers took time to leave a thought:
wow that is a list... now i'm curious how many words Ozzie says. It seems like he doesn't say as many.
I love the teenager comment. :)
Berry-erry-erry-erry-erry-erry-erry.
Ha!
I keep thinking about that every time I stick a strawberry in my mouth. :)
That is awesome. She is going to love reading that list someday too. Good job mom. Cole was a late talker and continues to have a delay. Not serious but hard to understand him. He has speech therapy
:( I hope my little girl takes more after me. So far she is a LOT more verbal even at 5 mos.
